Do not combine all of these under the word fee. They arise for different reasons and are controlled by different contracts or network rules. Read slippage, price impact and gas for examples.

Step 4: review approval requests

Swapping an ERC-20-compatible token can require an approval transaction. Verify the spender contract, token and permitted amount. An approval only grants permission. It does not prove that the following swap will execute at the expected price.

Some tokens also have unusual transfer logic, restrictions or deductions. If the quote warns about unsupported behavior or cannot estimate the result reliably, do not increase slippage blindly. Confirm the token's current official documentation first.

Step 5: sign only the transaction you understand

On the final wallet screen, check:

  1. BNB Smart Chain is selected;
  2. the input token and amount are correct;
  3. the output contract is the intended asset;
  4. minimum received is acceptable;
  5. the spender and router match the displayed route;
  6. the gas estimate is affordable;
  7. the receiving address is your wallet.

Step 6: verify execution on-chain

After submission, open the transaction hash in a reputable BNB Chain explorer. Confirm the status, token transfers and destination. If the output token is not visible, verify its contract before adding it to the wallet.

A successful approval and a failed swap are two separate outcomes. Check both transaction hashes when the wallet required two on-chain actions.

Liquidity considerations on BNB Chain

BNB Chain supports multiple DEXs, market makers and routing systems. More venues do not mean every pair has deep liquidity. A common pair can still show a different result for a large order than for a small one.

Multihop or split routes may improve the output by accessing deeper liquidity. They may also increase complexity and gas. Compare the final amount, minimum received and transaction cost together.

For an unfamiliar token or route, a small test swap can verify network and wallet behavior. It does not eliminate token, smart-contract or market risk.
