Set up your wallet
Try Flare Risk-Free with Coston Network
Want to explore Flare Network without risking your real tokens? Connecting your MetaMask to Coston, Flare's testnet, allows you to experiment with the platform safely. We'll show you how to do it in a few steps.
Open Network Settings in MetaMask
In MetaMask, click on your profile color circle and navigate to Settings > Network > Add a network.
Add Coston Network Details
Fill in the fields with the following information. Make sure not to leave extra spaces, especially in the RPC URL.
Your dialog should look like this:

Adding Test WCFLRs
To add the WCFLR test token to your wallet, you'll need to use the "Import token" feature.
Import WCFLR Token
Use the following contract address. MetaMask will automatically fill in the symbol (WCFLR) and decimals (18).

Set up MetaMask for Songbird and Access your SGB
If you have Songbird SGB tokens, setting them up in MetaMask is the first step to start using them. Here we explain how to connect your wallet to this network in minutes.
If you don't have MetaMask yet
Available as a browser extension and mobile app, MetaMask gives you everything you need to manage your digital assets securely.
Browser Configuration (MAC or PC)
The following steps are for the browser extension. We will use Chrome as an example.
Select "Add network"
Once your wallet is installed and imported, click on the network menu (usually "Ethereum Mainnet") and select "Add network" or "Custom RPC".
Enter Songbird details
Ready! You will now see Songbird in the network selector and your $SGB token balance.
Add WSGB token
In the “Assets” tab, scroll down and select “Import tokens” to add $WSGB.
The symbol (WSGB) and decimals (18) will autocomplete. Click “Next” and “Import”.
Instructions for Mobile App
The process on iPhone and other mobile devices is very similar.
Go to network settings
Press the menu (3 bars) > Settings > Networks > Add network and enter the same Songbird network data.
Add WSGB token
Repeat the import token process with the contract address above. To change networks, press “Wallet” at the top.
Connect Ledger Nano to MetaMask to Protect your SGB
If you prioritize security, connecting your Ledger Nano to MetaMask is ideal for managing your SGB on Songbird with peace of mind. Follow this detailed guide.
Process Overview
This guide will help you connect your Ledger with MetaMask, send your SGB tokens, and delegate them securely using dApps, approving everything from your physical device.
Basic Configuration and Preparation
Connect and Update your Ledger
Connect your Ledger Nano via USB, open Ledger Live, and ensure you have the latest version of the device software and firmware.
Install Necessary Apps
In the Ledger Live ‘Manager’, install the latest versions of the Ethereum (ETH) and Songbird (SGB) applications.
Prepare MetaMask
Ensure you have MetaMask installed and your account set up. Go to Settings > Advanced and enable the option ‘Use Ledger Live’.
Add Songbird Network
If you haven't already, add the Songbird network to MetaMask using the data from the previous section.
Enable Bridge between MetaMask and Ledger
Start Bridge in Ledger Live
In Ledger Live, go to Accounts > Ethereum > Receive . Follow the steps to open the ETH app on your Ledger and confirm your address on the device. This prepares the connection.
Connect from MetaMask
In MetaMask, click your account icon and select ‘Connect hardware wallet’. Choose ‘Ledger’ and follow the instructions to communicate with Ledger Live.
Access your Accounts
MetaMask will show a list of addresses from your Ledger. Select the one corresponding to your funds (usually the first one). If you don't see it, try changing the derivation path to Legacy (MEW).
Manage and Delegate your SGB Securely
Send SGB to another Wallet (Optional)
With the Songbird app open on your Ledger, you can use the "Send" function in MetaMask to move your SGB to another wallet, like Bifrost. Each transaction will require your confirmation on the physical device.
Delegate Directly with dApps
You can use dApps like FTSO Latin Link to wrap and delegate your SGB without moving them from your Ledger. For this, go to the Songbird app settings on your Ledger and enable "Blind Signing".
Easy as that! All confirmations will be done on your Nano Ledger, keeping your keys always safe.
Add Songbird to Ledger Live and Manage your SGB Easily
If you're looking to control your SGB with the security of Ledger Live, adding the Songbird account is a great option. We explain how to do it in a few steps:
Update your Ledger
Confirm that Ledger Live, your Nano firmware, and the Ethereum app are up to date.
Add Songbird
In Ledger Live, go to Accounts > + Add account and select Songbird (SGB) from the list.
Connect and Sync
Connect your Nano, unlock it, open the Ethereum app, and follow instructions to install and sync the Songbird app.
Choose your Addresses
If you have several, select the ones you want to add.
And done! Your SGB will be integrated into Ledger Live, offering security and a clear view of your portfolio. With Latin Link, managing your tokens is easier than ever.

Vote Delegation and Reward Epochs on Songbird
Weekly Start
ALL reward epochs will start weekly on Saturdays at approximately 08:41 UTC.
Random Snapshot
At the start of the new epoch, a snapshot of the vote power block from the current reward epoch is selected randomly and retroactively.
Reward Eligibility
Anyone who starts delegating before the delegation lock will NOT be eligible to start accruing rewards until AFTER 08:41 UTC on Saturday.
Provider Change
If you cancel or switch data providers mid-period, you will remain locked to the original provider for the remainder of the current week.
No Action
If you take no weekly action, the system will default to using the data providers selected from the previous week.
Reward Payout
Rewards are paid in $SGB.
Claiming Rewards
Rewards cannot be claimed until the next reward epoch has begun (after the following Saturday).
Claim Validity
Reward calls/claims are valid for 90 days. Unclaimed ones are returned to the reward pool.
Manual Process
The reward claim process is manual, via the button on the Rewards page.
Vote Power
Claimed rewards will not be added to your vote power until the next delegation lock.

Reward Rate: A Detailed Explanation
A number everyone talks about is the “Reward Rate”. It is a number that needs more explanation and you can find it on FlareMetrics.
What is it?
It is a ratio used to calculate how many tokens you will receive per 100 delegated.
Why does it show a lower value than the previous epoch?
The reward rate resets with each epoch, as the variables calculating it have changed. At the start of an epoch, a snapshot of your balance and delegations is taken, defining the total vote power for that period.
An Analogy to Understand Better
Imagine a glass container for each Signal Provider (SP). At the start, it is empty. Every 4 minutes, if the SP wins the voting round, a little "water" (rewards) is added. The water level always rises during the week, sometimes fast, sometimes slow. The "Reward Rate" is the final water level at the end of the week. Then, containers are emptied, and the cycle starts again.
The Formula
Final Word
The reward rate will change over time as more providers are added and algorithms evolve. As more data becomes available, FlareMetrics will show a long-term average for each provider.
If you are new, we recommend reading our intro guides and "Delegation factors to consider".
